Inspiration comes from many places. Mine came from frustration about how difficult it was to find how to get the answers to solving basic marketing problems in the Toronto area. Having spent the past 20 years working in large marketing agencies in Europe, Australia and Canada, if I was finding this a challenge I could only imagine how hard it would be for businesses whose speciality is not in this field.
I started having conversations with small business owners and quickly realised that they could benefit from this expertise but don’t have the budget for huge agency fees. They were universally time poor, were passionate about their business and want to be able to trust the partners that they get to help them. I had spent my whole career building up a network of experts in their field that I trust so why not put them to use?
The idea behind the name
The idea of ConnectsTo came from the duality of the word. It “connects” people “to” the right resources, whilst also recognising the locality of the service, TO: Toronto, Ontario. I wanted to develop a proposition where Toronto business could get access to the expert local resources that they need, at an affordable price
